How to Apply for Aadhar Card

Aadhar Card as issued by Govt of India, aims to provide a unique ID number for every single individual across the country. It is regulated by an independent authority which is UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).

# How to get an Aadhar Card ?

Since Aadhar card is distributed by Govt of India, it can only be obtained by registering oneself at authorized Aadhar enrollment centre. One need to follow the following procedures for procuring Aadhar Card : 

  • Documents of Address and Identity which are duly attested by a gazetted officer are a must, which must be carried along with an Aadhar enrollment form to the authorised Aadhar enrollment centre.
  • The officials at the enrollment centre will carry out a document verification process.
  • Your details will be entered in to the system and will need to cross check it.
  • After that the process of entering of your fingerprint & Iris scanning will be carried out.
  • A photograph of yours will be taken.
  • The official at the centre will then validate your form along with his initials.
  • A printed acknowledgement slip will be generated bearing an enrollment number and other necessary details.
  • Now your details will be counter verified and Aadhar Card will be dispatched to you within a period of 60-90 days.
  • You can easily check the status of your Aadhar card by logging on to the official webpage of UIDAI and filling up the necessary details.
