The BMI (Body Mass Index) calculation is a standard process which indicates whether you are overweight or not by comparing your height with your weight. To calculate BMI manually follow these steps :
i) Apparatus Required.
Note down your weight in kg and height in mtrs. Substitute the values in following formula :
BMI = (Weight in kg) / (height in metre) x ( height in metre).
For the sake of accuracy, repeat the above process and take the mean of the observations.

Based on the standard results, you can judje yourself on the index of BMI.

- Weighing Machine.
- Pencil & Paper.
- Calculator.
- You can easily measure your height using a Metre Tape or by marking your height against a wall.
- You can weigh yourself by weighing machines which can be commonly found in Pathological labs.
